­­Biography - Betty Combie (MEd., BSc.. PMP)

 Betty Combie is the Managing Director/owner of Moz Inc. - a training and consulting firm.   She has over 35 years’ experience in people development and over 15 years’ experience in organisational improvement.  She is well-known for her simple, practical and engaging approach.  She has worked in both the local and regional market; and her company currently offers an online quality management systems course entitled, QMS Simplified, which reaches a global audience.

She possesses a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, master’s degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation and is a certified project management professional (PMP).   She has attained achievement certificates as a lead auditor for ISO 9001 – Requirements for quality management systems and ISO 14001 – Requirements for environmental management systems and for the course entitled: Managing Quality for Business Improvement

She is currently and has been the SOLE lecturer of quality management systems courses at the University of the West Indies Open Campus Saint Lucia. She is the Vice Chairperson of the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards Technical Committee for Management Services involved in the review of international management system standards related to risks, quality, projects, management consultancy, etc.  She is a member of the Association of Management Consultants of Saint Lucia.

As a former Head of the Certification Department at the Saint Lucia Bureau of Standards she was involved in training and in assessments of organisations’ processes and systems against national standards.   Her work with the Ministry of Education in Saint Lucia encompassed the coordination of Common Entrance and other key-stage examinations.  She has been a contributor to the magazine Saint Lucia Business Focus supplying articles related to quality management systems (QMS). 

Her services include training, assessments and other technical assistance related to quality management systems (QMS); training in project management, effective management, strategic planning, customer satisfaction, teambuilding and other related areas; preparatory courses for the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) credential and motivational empowerment seminars.

Her company has been awarded grant assistance from Caribbean Export Development Agency and the European Union as well as the Saint Lucia Trade Export Promotion Agency.

At the regional level she has been contracted by the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC),  the Caribbean Development Bank and the Human Resourcce Management Association of Barbados.  In Saint Lucia, her clientele has been diverse and has included organisations in both the private and public sector.
